Roof Spires - the magnificent adornment of the house
Look upwards more often when strolling through the city - it's worth it!
Roof Spires can be found in a wide variety of designs on bay windows, dormers or even gables of old buildings. They are the crowning glory of a building, so to speak.
Gropius, Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier have shown the way. Tasteful building is also possible without excessive ornamentation. Many have followed suit. Some with more, some with less success. In any case, it has prevailed. Roof or spire tops and Weathervanes also fell victim to this. A pity, because they characterised the exterior of historic buildings or smaller pavilions for many decades. A building detail that should not be lost.
The Roof Spires are usually made of copper or titanium zinc and are still reproduced true to the original today.
