General product information

Louvre plates, profiled sheets or decorative panels, more rarely also called pelmets or lambrequins - many synonymous terms describe these decorative elements on the exterior façade.
This form of decoration was already used in architecture in the 17th/18th century. Ornamental panels were also made from other materials such as wood, stone and stucco and were used for the ornamental design of windows, arbours and roof edges. At the end of the 19th century, they were often used as decorative panels to cover blinds and shutters. They are still a striking part of the façade design in many Wilhelminian-style villas today.

Copper or zinc
The louvre panels are made from malleable materials (rolled metal sheets). We offer all models in the two materials copper DIN 1787 or titanium zinc DIN EN 988. The material thickness is approx. 0.7 mm.Copper is a very durable material. It changes colour over time from light red to dark brown. It has a high resistance even under severe weather conditions.
Titanium zinc is an alloy of zinc and small amounts of titanium and copper. Titanium zinc has a blue-grey colour and will darken slightly over time. Titanium zinc is also a very durable, corrosion-resistant material.
Manufacture and sizes
Louvre plates are manufactured using the so-called pressure forming process. The flat sheet is pressed onto a 100 cm long pressure block (negative mould) using special forming tools and formed into a metal sheet with a relief. Depending on the thickness of the relief, the metal shrinks slightly, meaning that the specified lengths may vary slightly.Due to the manufacturing process, the louvre plates have fixed sizes. If you require longer lengths, the sheets can simply be joined during mounting. This is barely visible from a distance. A few models can also be customised in excess lengths. Simply enquire if required.

Installation instructions
The mounting of the shutter plates must be adapted to the individual conditions on site. Some roller shutter boxes have a steel bracket onto which the plates can be screwed. They can also be screwed or riveted directly into the box or attached to an attached wooden strip. All installation work should be carried out by a specialist. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper mounting.
Optional paint finish
The decorative panels can also be painted in a different colour. Please note that a special metal primer should be applied beforehand if necessary.
