General product information
- Rim locks are the forerunners of the mortise locks commonly used today. In contrast to mortise locks, which are not visibly embedded in the door leaf, these are locks that are mounted on the door leaf. In the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods, these were designed as open locks in which the mechanism was visible. Later, the lock mechanism was concealed so that only a box attached to the door was visible.
Specific product information
-
Lever handles for rim locks have an asymmetrical design. They have a widened handle shaft on the rim lock side to cover the lock follower and a long handle shaft on the opposite side.
A rosette is required as a handle guide for installation on the opposite side of the rim lock. The rosette has an internal diameter of 16 mm.

Care instructions
Brass is alive! We always deliver brass fittings unlacquered. The surface will darken slightly, becoming more irregular and more vibrant in colour. The door fitting develops its own patina and approaches the appearance of original historical fittings. If you wish, you can polish the fitting from time to time. We recommend Nevr Dull® polishing pad for this purpose.
Nickel-plated surfaces are sensitive to acids. They should only be cleaned with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
