The bell pull - a purely mechanical operating principle
Before the days of electric doorbells, there was another way to make yourself heard besides knocking on the entrance door: The bell pull. The bell rope is attached to the outside of the entrance door. A small pulling movement on the handle of the linkage causes the bell mounted inside to vibrate via a pull rope and ring at the point in the house where it is easily audible. The bell pull - a purely mechanical operating principle
This bell pull with brass recess is an elegant and visually discreet form of the bell pull principle. The brass recess is flush-mounted in the house wall or door frame and visually becomes part of the building. By pulling the brass knob, the brass bell inside the house is operated by means of a wire rope that is guided through the wall of the house. The cable is guided inside by 2 pulleys. The spiral spring, to which the bell is riveted, ensures that the bell swings back to its original position after being operated. Wine spring on the pull knob ensures reliable resetting of the knob.

Care instructions
Brass is alive! The brass doorbell rosette in the unlacquered brass design will darken slightly and become more irregular and vibrant in colour. It will develop its own patina and take on an almost authentic appearance. If you wish, you can polish the doorbell from time to time. We recommend Nevr Dull® polishing pad for this purpose. Nickel-plated surfaces are sensitive to acids. Just like painted or patinated surfaces, they should only be cleaned with a mild cleaning agent and a soft cloth. Installation instructions
For mounting the bell recess, a cavity is created in the wall to accommodate the recess. The spring mechanism requires a hole with a diameter of approx. 18 mm and a depth of 110 mm. The hole to be designed in the extension for the cable feed-through to the inside of the house can have a smaller diameter. Use the screws to mount the pull rope to the pull rod, which is attached to the back of the trough. Guide the cable through the wall and the opening in the pulley. You can now screw on the pulley on the inside and the brass trough on the outside. The bell can be mounted both on the ceiling and on the wall. Depending on the installation location, the cable guide must be adapted accordingly. In any case, the second pulley should be fitted so that the cable runs approximately horizontally to the bell. It is also important to ensure that the bell spring is at right angles to the pull rope. Once the bracket has been fitted, the bell is placed on the axle and secured with the nut. Now feed the rope through the second pulley and mount it to the eyelet of the bell using rope clamps. However, only tighten it enough so that the pull knob can automatically return to the home position. All mounting work should be carried out and checked by a specialist or under their direction and supervision.
We accept no liability for damage caused by improper mounting.
