In the past, street name signs were usually made of enamel. Our street signs are still produced in a small enamelling plant in the Black Forest.
Today, there are still many reasons to choose enamel, a unique composite material made of metal and fired glass:
- Enamel colours do not fade. They are absolutely lightfast. Blue does not turn grey, red remains red and white does not yellow. The colour brilliance of enamelled signs is permanently retained.
- The enamelled surface is as hard as glass and very hard-wearing. The firing process at around 800 degrees Celsius creates an adhesive composite material. There is no rust infiltration.
- Enamelled surfaces are unusually scratch and impact resistant. The glass-like surface is chemically resistant and can even be easily cleaned of dried paint, felt or grease pencils.

The signs are designed as standard with a surrounding edge as shown. However, they can also be produced without an edge on request. The signs can also be produced as a special design in any desired colour combination and in the colour (RAL) of your choice. Please note that the RAL colour can only be approximated in the case of branded items.

Cleaning
The glass-smooth enamelled surface has antistatic properties and has a self-cleaning effect. Rain keeps enamelled signs "naturally" clean. What the rain does not wash off, a damp cloth can easily do. Mounting instructions
When screwing on the signs, make sure to design the last few turns by hand rather than using a cordless screwdriver so as not to accidentally damage the enamelled surface.
