Etched Glass
Satinised glass panels with filigree, continuous patterns
Almost like in the old days ...
Etched Glass with delicate filigree patterns
Etched Glass is a glass with a transparent pattern on a frosted background. It was first produced in France in the middle of the 19th century, where delicate muslin fabrics and lace were used as templates. The French "mousseline glass" quickly became widespread in Europe.
In the early days, the glass was etched with hydrofluoric acid, hence the synonymously used term etched glass. Today, the glass is satinised using a special fine blasting process.
Etched Glass can be used as restoration glass in historic entrance doors, staircase windows or vestibule doors. The glass is often used for flat entrance doors. It brings light into the hallway without being transparent and creates a friendly atmosphere.
We stock Etched Glass as standard in the 4 mm float glass design as sheet glass in the specified sheet size. We are also happy to offer cutting to size.
A design as toughened safety glass, laminated safety glass or insulating glass is also possible.
The glass can also be manufactured in other thicknesses on request, and in special sizes for some patterns. Just ask us!
