A panel in the original sense is a sheet for wall and ceiling covering. Wall panelling was commonly found in castels and mansions in the past. It's main purpose was to protect walls in hallways and bathrooms, but it was also a decorative element.
Wall panelling was mostly made with wood or natural stone. These were replaced more and more by the progression of tile production. With our ceramic panel tiles this type of wall panelling is experiencing a renaissance. Especially in bathrooms it is possible to create walls with a special atmosphere, without having to give up the undisputed advantages of ceramic.
The vertically laid panel tiles size 20x80cm form the core of wall panelling. A bordertile in matching colour serves as top end, possibly interrupted by a coloured relief border tile size 6.5x20 cm. The lower end is laid with matching socket tiles size 20x20 cm.
The panel tiles are available with opaque glaze (matt white or beige) and with craquelé structure (gloss white or beige). The complementary border tiles and socket tiles are available in light grey or caffe; the relief border tiles are available in light grey, caffe, gentian or pine.
The rectangular or square tiles must be ordered according to our packaging unit of 0,507 qm (60 pcs or 30 pcs respectively). Decorative tiles, border tiles and socket tiles can be ordered individually. The tiles are ordered directly in Italy. The lead time is approx. 3 weeks.
These tiles are not packed in specified packaging units. You can order the desired number of tiles. The tiles are ordered directly in Italy. The lead time is approx. 3 weeks.
Tiles can only be transported safely with a forwarding agency. We would be pleased to provide you with an offer for delivery on your construction site. Transport cost depends on weight and distance. To prepare the offer we need to know the amount of tiles you plan to buy and your postcode. Shipping costs on request.
Cross-mixing is necessary to receive a harmonious play of colours. Please take the tiles out of different boxes during laying, alternating between all boxes.
Border tiles and ornamented tiles should get installed with offset joints, thus the appearance of the joints is more lively and the surface gets structured horizontally. Ornamentations, colours, and glaze-effects are fully displayed.
All tiling work must only be carried out by a qualified specialist. We cannot accept any liability for damages due to incorrect installation.
For laying we recommend a flexible adhessive according to DIN EN 12004 class C2T. The joints should be at least 2mm wide. We recommend to use a neutral colour for the joints. When using heavily pigmented grout and the tiles have a strong craquelé it is possible that colour pigments settle in the craquelé. The effect should be tested on a trial tile before the jointing. In order to avoid the absorption, it is advisable to impregnate the tiles with FILA MP/90 before jointing. To achieve a good final result it is advisable to also impregnate the joints.
For detailed information on adhessives and grout we like to refer to the specifications of the respective manufacturer. As laying is often made with different tiles that were produced with different methods (dry pressing, wet pressing, extrusion moulding etc.), we recommend that laying is carried out by a qualified specialist who has the expertise to level out the caliber differences that are typicall for non-industrial tile manufacturing.
