- The surface-mounted installation of electrical cables and switches is still a common installation method today. Flush-mounted installation is often difficult, especially outdoors. Surface-mounted switches are also popular in adjoining rooms, basements or workshops. This eliminates the need to slit and chisel open walls and allows easy inspection, repair and expansion of the system and the cable network.

Cables and cable trays
The cable sheathing serves to protect the cable from external influences. However, it does not necessarily have to be a PVC cable. The textile-sheathed cable is a standardised and aesthetic alternative. It is also produced by a German manufacturer. It is suitable for indoor and damp areas and is flame-retardant.Suitable cable supports for cable routing are also available.
Cable clamps
The cable supports are made of black plastic. They are used to fix and guide the surface-mounted cable on the wall. The screws for mounting are included in the scope of delivery.Rotary switch with spring mechanism
The rotary knob is also made of solid Bakelite and is used to operate the internal mechanical spring mechanism: An inserted system spring translates the slow rotation into an abrupt switchover, producing a typical clicking, yet pleasant sound.Protection class
The socket has integrated child protection. When the cover is closed, it has an IP44 degree of protection, and IP22 when the plug is inserted. The socket comes with an additional rubber ring which, when pulled over an IP44 plug as an additional seal, gives the socket an IP44 degree of protection even in this state.Material and mounting
The switches and sockets are made of black Bakelite, the first early plastic with its special feel and appearance. Switches and sockets are solidly designed with a material thickness of 2.5 mm. The height above plaster is 7 cm.
The housing is in two parts and mounting is by means of two screw fittings on the side. A combination of several sockets or switches and sockets is possible with the corresponding feed-through sockets. Traditionally, the rotary switch is placed above the socket.VDE certification
All switches and sockets are VDE tested and fulfil the strictest safety regulations.
