Fine porcelain stoneware has always been regarded as a precious and high-quality tile material.
Even nowadays the ornamented tiles are individually produced according traditional manufacturing techniques: The blank is made out of fine clay granulate that is pressed under high pressure. The coloured granulates get filled in the pressing tool manually by means of a template. Afterwards the carrying granulate is poured on the coloured granulate, the template gets removed and the granulate layers are pressed at high pressure to form a rugged blank. The beautiful colouring of the inlay tiles comes into existence during the firing process.
Small differences from tile to tile are no reason to complaint but must be seen as sign of the quality of hand-made production.
Fine porcelain stoneware are a guarantor for durability over many decades -
The fine porcelain stoneware tiles are suited for laying in houses (kitchens-bathrooms-hallways) as well as in outdoor areas threatened to frost (terraces - paths - open spaces). Due to their special product characteristics, the fine porcelain stoneware is suited for areas that are walked on a lot (restaurants-hallways-passages).Their good thermal conductivity makes them suitable for rooms with underfloor heating. They are also particularly suitable for decorative fire prevention areas in front of fireplaces.
The handcrafted tiles come with an easy care ceramic finish. By applying ceramic powders a ceramic layer is permanently bound to the ceramic tile during the firing process. Tiles with ceramic finish feature a precious semi-matte gloss and intense colour effects. They require no impregnation after laying and are easy to clean.
If desired we produce the tiles without ceramic finish.
The handcrafted tiles can be combined freely within the same size. As addition for the edge regions we offer plain fine porcelain stoneware. The colour ed granulate is the same, the shade may differ irreducibly.
The handcrafted tiles can be produced in different colour combinations on request. Please send us an enquiry.
Handcrafted tiles are produced order related after receipt of the order. Therefore we do not have a standard packaging unit. You can order any desired quantity. The standard lead time is 8 weeks.
Tiles can only be transported safely with a forwarding agency. We would be pleased to provide you with an offer for delivery on your construction site. Transport cost depends on weight and distance. To prepare the offer we need to know the amount of tiles you plan to buy and your postcode. Small quantities may be shipped with a parcel service. The risk of breaking will pass to you, if you want us to ship with a parcel service.
We recommend to use a flexible, hydraulically hardening, plastictreated thin-bed mortar (Flexkleber) for laying of the tiles using the thin-bed method. Please use a flexibel jointing grout as joint sealer. Ornamented tiles should get intalled with narrow joints (2-3mm) to achieve a pleasant overall picture.
Considering the cure time, residues of tile adhessive and joint sealer need to be removed from the tile surface after jointing. Residues can be removed with a wet sponge immediately after laying. The whole floor must be cleaned with a cleaner that removes cement residue to remove all excess cement (e.g. Fila Deterdek) from the grouting process. The careful execution of this cleaning process is crucial for the subsequent cleaning characteristics of the tile surface. To avoid problems during the building inspection we advise you to protect the tile surface by taking appropriate measures if there is any danger of soiling through other workers (e.g.painters). Fine porcelain stoneware with ceramic surface do not need any further impregnation.
All tiling work must only be carried out by a qualified specialist. We cannot accept any liability for damages due to incorrect installation.
For regular cleaning we recommend neutral detergent (e.g. FILA Cleaner). Do not use cleaning agents that contain wax or are re-fatting. Do not use soft soaps either. These cleaning agents may form a layer that bind the dirt and lead to an unpleasant look of the floor after a short time.
