Letterbox flap with circular ornament

Letterbox flaps or letter flaps are, from a strictly functional viewpoint, only cover plates to cover the pass through mail slot in the door, the gate or the masonry.

In the past, letter flaps were also a design element: Their shape and the material that was used, the degree of decor and ornamentation - they always matched the style of the house or the door.

Openings

The letter flaps open outwards or inwards depending on the model. The measurements from the pass-through on the inside and the external dimensions vary considerably depending on the model.

However, the one thing all letterboxes have in common: without exception a A4 letter will pass through easily, so that they correspond to today's customary requirements.

Surface finishes

Depending on the model, we offer various surface finishes. You can find images of the different variants under the tab " Variants " .

All letterbox flaps made of brass are not painted - over time they will become darker and develop their own patina. Those who wish can polish them repeatedly from time to time. We recommend using the polishing wool NEVR DULL. This can be purchased through us or any specialist shop near you.

Mounting

Depending on the model, the letter box flaps are simply screwed on the outside of the door or mounted through the door by means of threaded bolts.

Felt-flaps used as protection from draught

For the inside of the door, we offer so-called " felt flaps". These are made of brass or aluminum and the back is covered with a felt, so that they ward off unwanted draughts.

Mounting instructions

The letterbox flaps are manufactured in small batches by hand. All dimensions are approximate figures and need to be checked after receipt. We recommend that you drill the hole on your door only after you received the letter flap and are thus able to consider the minimal deviations that may occur.
