General product information

These door fittings can often be found in French country houses. They are also manufactured in Limoges, a small French town in the north-west of the Massif Central. Limoges became famous above all for its porcelain production. The area around the town has a high kaolin deposit, which is the main ingredient in porcelain production.
Thus, the first porcelain factories were established in 1771 and even today more than half of French porcelain comes from Limoges. The French court was also supplied with Limoges porcelain well into the 19th century.

Material and surfaces
The handles of this door set and the roses or backplates are made of high-gloss white or ivory-coloured or black porcelain. The angle pieces of the door handles are made of solid brass. The brass parts are turned from solid material and then milled and polished. The brass parts are available in a polished brass, unlacquered or shiny nickel-plated brass design.
Distance + WC design
The door plates have the standard distance of 72 mm between the keyhole and the centre of the handle hole, which is standard for room door locks in Germany. Unfortunately, it is not possible to manufacture plates with a different distance.
The porcelain door sets are also available as WC sets with a matching latch - distance 78 mm.

Cleaning and care
Porcelain is resistant to acids and alkalis, making it insensitive and requiring no special cleaning. Unlacquered brass surfaces will darken slightly over time, becoming more irregular and vibrant in colour. If you wish, you can polish the fitting from time to time. We recommend Nevr Dull® polishing pad for this purpose.
Nickel-plated surfaces are sensitive to acids. They should only be cleaned with a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Installation instructions
Mounting room door sets is not very time-consuming: Door plates or handle rosettes are fitted, the spindle is inserted through the lock follower, the door handles or door knobs are mounted on both sides of the spindle using a grub screw (if the spindle is too long, it can easily be shortened with a hacksaw to suit your door thickness). Door plates or roses are aligned and mounted on the door leaf using the wood screws. All installation work should be carried out by a specialist. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper mounting.
