General product information

Porcelain knobs on drawers and cupboards give furniture, whether old or modern, a special character. Porcelain knobs are often used in kitchens and bathrooms, where they add a friendly accent to furniture fronts. Porcelain is a material that is pleasant to the touch, extremely robust and easy to clean.
Our porcelain knobs come from Limoges, a small French town in the north-west of the Massif Central. Limoges became famous above all for its porcelain production. The area around the town has a high kaolin deposit, which is the main ingredient in porcelain production.
Thus, the first porcelain factories were established in 1771 and even today more than half of French porcelain comes from Limoges. The French court was also supplied with Limoges porcelain until well into the 19th century.

Materials and surface
The knobs themselves are made of high-gloss white porcelain. Porcelain is extremely durable: it does not yellow, does not wear out and retains its lustre and appearance for decades. The porcelain knobs are set into a solid brass skirting. Depending on the model, the skirting is available in two surfaces:
- Brass unlacquered - gold-coloured, will become darker and more vibrant in colour over time
- Brass shiny nickel-plated - warm silver shade

Cleaning and care
Porcelain is resistant to acids and alkalis, is therefore insensitive and does not require any special cleaning.Unlacquered brass surfaces will darken slightly over time and become more irregular and vibrant in colour.
Nickel-plated surfaces are sensitive to acids. They should only be cleaned with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
Mounting
Mounting furniture fittings is very simple: the threaded screw is inserted from the inside of the piece of furniture through a pre-drilled hole and the porcelain knobs are simply screwed onto the outside. If the threaded screw is too long, it can easily be shortened with a hacksaw.
