Aged planks and parquet floors
The authentically aged and patinated solid wood floors made of European oak have the special charm and aura of antique wood. Thanks to a special colouring and ageing process, these new floors are almost indistinguishable from real old wooden floors. However, the woods are "damaged" in a controlled manner and thus retain optimum stability and quality. The new "old" planks and parquet floors have the undeniable advantage that they are available in the desired quantity and in the desired colour. The wood comes exclusively from France, where there are enormous stocks of oak.
The planks and parquet strips are tongue and groove all round. They are finished at the factory (hard wax oiled) and are easy to lay.

Colouring
The wood is coloured with various stains after the ageing process. Staining enhances the natural effects of the tannins already present in the wood. In this way, subtle shades of colour can be achieved - the grain and structure of the wood remain visible. Characteristic features
The oak planks and parquet strips have irregular, slightly broken edges, which gives them their characteristic appearance. Due to the specific ageing process, small scratches, indentations and slight height tolerances are intentional and not a defect. Slight wood splintering may also occur in the edge area.Dimensions
We supply plank floors with fixed widths with the following dimensions as standard:- Thickness 20 mm

Mounting and care

Laying
The same rules and instructions that apply to other solid oak floors / multilayer floors also apply to the installation of our solid wood floors and multilayer floors. The applicable standards and technical rules of the specialist trade must be applied, and the installation itself must be carried out by a specialist tradesman. The installer must check the material carefully before installation and is responsible for the installation. Liability is excluded for the installation of obviously defective or faulty material. The installer is responsible for checking and assessing the suitability of the subfloor and the site conditions. The subfloor must be dry, clean, load-bearing and level.
All types of glue suitable for European oak can be used. As the floors usually only require final initial care and no additional sanding, care must be taken to ensure that no glue residue is left on the visible side. This would lead to differences in colour. The installation of solid wood planks on heated floor constructions is only possible to a limited extent. We recommend three-layer planks or parquet for this purpose, which we can offer you as an alternative in the same surface finish.
Final treatment
For floors with a finished oiled surface, the oil is applied in two to three layers at the factory. After installation, the installation surface should be smoothed on site using a single disc polishing machine and a polishing pad and then a coat of AD Protect should be applied. In this way, joints and possible minor damage are maintained and protected.AD Protect is a floor oil that is available in 3 different designs:
- Hard wax oil AD Protect (red) - matt
- Natural oil AD Protect (orange) - light gloss
- Impregnating oil AD Protect (green) - not visible
Maintenance care
Regular maintenance cleaning with AD CLEAN floor soap. Depending on the intensity of use, apply maintenance oil once a year. For intensive cleaning: AD INTENSIVE.
