Cast iron radiators, also called cast radiators or column radiators, release a great deal of heat by radiation - a warmth that is felt to be pleasant and enjoyable. Cast iron radiators retain the heat much longer than today's usual steel radiators. They are particularly resistant to corrosion and have a long life cycle.
Above all, however: Nostalgic radiators with its own feel and its decorative ornamentation are just a beautiful eye-catcher: they create atmosphere and give a special touch to each room. Our models are exact replicas from the years around 1890-1930, a turbulent period that is reflected stylistically in its great variety of shapes.
The radiators are composed of individual memebers. They are sand cast in a iron foundry and then assembled to order to finished blocks. The length of the radiator results from the number of memebers used. The connection of the individual members is made with nipples with left- and right-hand threads. Please note that the total length may differ slightly. It is advisable to lay the pipelines only when the heater is on your construction site.
Cast iron radiators can easily be connected to customary, modern heating systems. There is no special technique needed, either for the production of hot water or for the pipe connection. For most models both a mutual, and an equilateral connection is possible.
Our cast iron radiators are exclusively of European origin. Inspection of the heat output is based on the European standard EN 442. Prior to delivery, the radiators are tested in pressure chambers for leakage.
The size of the radiator only allows for limited conclusions on his output. For the heat emission of a radiator, the wattage is crucial. The respective watt figures relate to a heating system with 75 °C flow temperature and 65°C return temperature (in accordance with EN 442).
The calculation of the heating load in your rooms is always dependent on several factors and should be carried out by a specialised company.
The cast iron radiator EPOCA is available with 4-, 6-, 8- or 10 members. It is coated with a protective primer and then furnished with a gray metallic paint.
In addition, we offer suitable valve sets in solid brass design. Valves for manual adjustment are used to set the desired room temperature and can be operated manually. The thermostatic valve has an integrated thermostat which automatically controls the heat emission.
The radiator is assembled with the desired number of members upon receipt of the order. The delivery time is approximately 6 weeks.
The radiator is shipped by freight carrier in a specially built wooden transport case. Please observe the following instructions:
