Cladding for blinds, tread metal sheets or decorative panel, sometimes called Lambrequins - many synonymous terms describe these decorative elements for front facades.

This form of decoration found its way into archeticture as early as the 17./18. century. Decorative panels were made of other materials such as wood, stone, stucco and help to design richly ornamented windows, pergolas and roof edges. During the late 19th century, these were often used as decorative panels for cladding of blinds and shutters. They are prominent parts of the facade design in many Wilhelminian style villas even today.

Copper or zinc

Our claddings for blinds are made of ductile materials (rolled metal sheets). All models are offered in the two materials copper DIN 1787 or titanium zinc DIN EN 988. The material thickness is about 0.7 mm.

Copper is a very durable material. It changes its colour from bright red to dark brown over time. It has a high resistance even under severe weather conditions.

Titanium zinc is an alloy of zinc and small amounts of titanium and copper. Titanium zinc has a blue-gray color and will get slightly darker over time. Also titanium zinc is a very durable, corrosion-resistant material.

Manufacturing process and sizes

The claddings for blinds are manufactured using the so-called pressure defomation process. The even sheet is pressed and formed into an embellished metal sheet by means of special forming tools on a 100 cm long printing plate (negative mould). Depending on the thickness of the relief, the metal fades away a bit, with the result that the indicated lengths may differ minimally.

For production reasons, the claddings for blinds have defined sizes. If you need longer parts, the sheets can be easily be joint end-to-end during assembly. This is hardly visible from a distance. A few models can be produced custom-made in excess lengths. Please send us an enquiry if you need a special size.

Lead time

The claddings are made to order. The lead time is approx. 2-3 weeks.

Mounting instructions

The fixing of the claddings for blinds must be adapted to the individual circumstances on site. Some roller shutter casings have a steel bracket, onto which the sheets can be screwed. They can also be screwed or riveted directly into the casing or be applied to a fitted wooden strip.

Mounting must only be carried out by a qualified specialist. We cannot accept any liability for damages due to incorrect mounting.

The decorative panels can also be painted. It should be noted that, if necessary, a special metal primer is applied beforehand.
