Recessed sliding door handle BULBOSA - brass - matt nickel

Our sliding door handles, also called handle shell or handhold or recessed grip, are reproductions of original templates. In the past, sliding doors were used as a room divider to seperate the dining area and were part of the prestigious living quarters. Accordingly, the door fitting was not only a functional detail, but designed stylistically.

Material and manufacturing process

Our sliding door handles are made of solid brass, a copper-zinc-alloy. They are manufactured in our own foundry using the traditional technique of sand casting.

Surface finishes

This door handle is available in 3 different surface finishes:

• Polished brass, non lacquered – gold-coloured – going to get darker, become more irregular and dull
• shiny nickel-plated – shiny silver-coloured – may get a little darker
• brushed, satin nickel-plated – dim silver-coloured with slight brushed effect- may get a little darker

Special design

Standardly we supply these door handles without keyhole. If desired we can produce them with keyhole for warded locks (surcharge 10,-€/pc.).

Scope of delivery

Pan head screws with wood thread in corresponding finish are included in the delivery.

Lead time

We usually have small quantities of this article with standard brass surface in stock. Please consider a lead time of approx. 8 weeks for larger order quantities.

We ship with DPD as insured package, delivery costs Germany 6,80 € (+ possibly island surcharge), EU shipping: 17 €, non EU-countries: shipping costs on request.

Mounting instructions

The sliding door handle is precisely inserted into the door panel and secured with wood screws. Please consider the required installation depth. We recommend making the cutout on your door only after you have received the door handle. Since this article is made by hand, slight deviations may occur.

Mounting should only be carried out by a qualified specialist. We cannot accept any liability for damages due to incorrect mounting.

Care instructions

Brass lives! We always deliver brass fittings non lacquered. The surface is going to get darker, become more irregular and the colouration is going to be livelier. The fitting will form a patina and converge to the look and feel of original historic fittings. If desired you may refurbish the mount. We recommend the polishing wool “Nevr Dull”®. Nickel-plated surfaces are sensitive to acid. They should be cleaned only with mild detergents and a soft cloth.
