General product information
Many years ago, doormats or scrapers were a self-evident and quite useful object in front of each entrance. The boot scraper was made of iron, more or less ornamented, and was found before virtually every doorstep. Nowadays however it has become a relic of the times when the access roads were not continuously paved. Firmly anchored in the floor or wall, it symbolized neatness and cleanliness inside the house in a pragmatic way.
And yet: Although the boot scraper has lost its meaning before the house, at access points to the garden or workshop spaces it proves to still be a useful detail e.g. when gardening in unsettled weather leaves traces on your footwear.

Manufacturing process and surface
Our boot scrapers made of wrought iron are produced in traditional craftmanship in a small forge in the black forest. They are subsequently galvanized black, thus they do not rust and keep their dark colour. On request, we can have them manufactured in raw iron. They will then rust outdoors and get an authentic feel.
