Boot scraper LYRA

Many years ago, doormats or scrapers were a self-evident and quite useful object in front of each entrance. The boot scraper was made of iron, more or less ornamented, and was found before virtually every doorstep. Nowadays however it has become a relic of the times when the access roads were not continuously paved. Firmly anchored in the floor or wall, it symbolized neatness and cleanliness inside the house in a pragmatic way.

And yet: Although the boot scraper has lost its meaning before the house, at access points to the garden or workshop spaces it proves to still be a useful detail e.g. when gardening in unsettled weather leaves traces on your footwear.

Manufacturing process and surface

The cast iron boot scraper is re-made accoriding to our orginal templates in a small foundry. The production process of iron casting allows - in contrast to wrought iron - a somewhat finer ornamentation.

Cast ironboot scrapers are not galvanized, but simply painted black. The paint will wear of over the years and the boot scraper will get his his unqiue traces of use.

Mounting must only be carried out by a qualified specialist. We cannot accept any liability for damages due to incorrect mounting.
