Rotary switch PORZELLAN - multi-circuit-switch without outer Covering frame
Porcelain rotary switch as a multi-circuit-switch
The porcelain rotary switch is not only a functional but also a decorative element that adds a special touch to your home.
The centre insert and the retro rotary knob are made of high-gloss porcelain. The precise rotary mechanism produces the typical 'click' sound when switched, reminiscent of times gone by.
Two lights can be switched in succession with a multi-circuit-switch switch.
The rotary knob has 4 possible positions:
1 x turn - first light on
Turn 2 x - both lights on
Turn 3 x - second light on
Turn 4 x - off
This multi-circuit-switch switch is not a two-way-switch, i.e. the light can only be operated from one position in the room.
Our porcelain rotary switch has screw contacts and fits into standard flush-mounted boxes.

The light switch
The light switch - it is used every day and yet receives little attention. It is usually only seen as a necessary, functional detail. With these "old" light switches, you can make switching on a conscious daily activity again. The light switches with their soft shapes also serve as stylish design objects for the wall. Whether rotary switches or rocker switches - this is ultimately a question of personal preference. Porcelain and Duroplast
Covers, rotary knobs and switch knobs are made of porcelain, a material that is unique with its radiant lustre and smooth surface that is pleasant to the touch. Porcelain has very good insulating properties and is extremely strong. The porcelain type C 110 used complies with the standard for material properties in accordance with DIN VDE 0335 Part 3.The central insert of the porcelain - sockets and the thermoset junction boxes is made of a colour-coordinated thermoset. Duroplast is one of the first industrially produced plastics. The material is characterised by its high thermomechanical strength. It is lightfast and does not yellow over the years.

Mechanical inner workings
The rotary and rocker switches as well as the push-buttons have a solid ceramic body. The spring mechanism of the rotary switch consists of 42 individual parts and is the result of mechanical precision work: regardless of the speed of the rotary movement, a uniform switch contact is guaranteed, which is closed with a light, familiar click - the switch mechanism thus prevents the arcing effect that threatens to impair the switching contacts in the long term, even with alternating current. To ensure a safe switching process, the snap-action mechanism is also galvanised.
All switches and sockets in this series are manufactured in Germany.
Switch variants and push-buttons
The rotary switches are available with four different functionalities:- Two-way-switch - if you want to switch a light source from one or two positions
- Intermediate switch - if you want to switch a light source from a third position
- Series switch - if you want to switch two light sources from one switch
- Jalousie switch
- The toggle or rocker switches are available in two versions as a two-way-switch or two-way-switch. rocker pushbuttons are available in two designs as toggle or intermediate switches.
Rocker pushbuttons are generally used when operation is required from at least 3 points. In contrast to the intermediate switch, this installation requires a impulse switch (relay), but the wiring and design of the light switches is simpler. A staircase light timer (time relay) can also be used instead of the impulse relay.VDE certification
All switches and sockets are VDE tested and fulfil the strictest safety regulations.Cover frame
Switches, sockets and junction boxes can be ordered as so-called inserts and the desired cover frames can be ordered separately. This means that switches and sockets can be freely combined and arranged. Please note that separate single cover frames with a larger inner diameter are required for junction boxes. The double cover frames are not designed for this. However, you can insert the junction boxes into the special outer frames of the system cover instead.
The distances of the system covers correspond to the standard distances of 71 mm. They can be used with existing installations without any problems. For double coverings and system coverings, make sure that you use round flush-mounted boxes.

Installation instructions
All flush-mounted switch systems naturally fit into commercially available, standardised flush-mounted boxes (e.g. from Kaiser).
We would like to point out that all installation work on electrical installations must be carried out by a specialist. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper mounting. Cleaning and care
The switches are resistant to heavy wear and tear (e.g. scratches). They are easy to clean with standard household cleaning agents
