General product information
-
Rotary switches are a relic from earlier times. But they are now available again, also as a variant for today's standard flush-mounted installation. With rotary switches, switching on the light becomes a conscious act of switching on the light again - with a small audible "click".
The COLONIAL porcelain switch system is manufactured in Spain by the long-established manufacturer FONTINI, whose products we distribute in Germany. Porcelain has always been a popular material in electrical engineering: porcelain has a crystal-clear aesthetic, a pleasant feel and particularly good insulating properties.

Designs - switches and push-buttons
The rotary switches are available with different functionalities:- On-off switch - if you only want to switch one light source
- Two-way switch - if you want to switch a light source from one or two positions
- Intermediate switch - if you want to switch a light source from a third position
- Series switch - if you want to operate two light sources with just one switch (one after the other)
Pushbuttons are generally used when operation is required from at least 3 points, e.g. in stairwells or lengthy corridors. In contrast to intermediate switches, this installation requires a impulse switch (relay), but the wiring and design of the light switches is simpler. A staircase light timer (time relay) can also be used instead of the impulse relay.
