Retro light switch DIMBLER – surface-mounted switch in old English style
The nostalgic DIMBLER light switch combines high-quality porcelain with a matt brushed brass surface and is reminiscent of classic old English interiors. A small, stylish design detail that emphasises an elegant interior style.
Available as a two-way switch or cross switch. The switch can be surface-mounted or flush-mounted using a special, compact flush-mounting box.

Material and surface
The DIMBLER switches are manufactured by the long-established Spanish manufacturer FONTINI, whose products we distribute in Germany.The body of the switches is made of porcelain. Porcelain has always been a popular material in electrical engineering: porcelain has a crystal-clear appearance, a pleasant feel and particularly good insulating properties.
Alternatively, the switches are also available with a brass cover in the following surface finishes:
- Gold-coloured brass
- Bronze-coloured brass
- Matt nickel-plated brass
- Gold-coloured brass
- Bronze-coloured brass
- Chrome-plated brass
Designs with or without cable outlet
The porcelain body of the DIMBLER switch has a small semi-circular opening at the bottom for cable entry. If you want to realise flush-mounted installation, make sure to order the switch without a cable outlet.Mounting variants
Surface mounting
The use of wooden base plates is recommended for surface mounting. These are made of beech wood and are available in four different surface finishes:
- natural, unlacquered
- natural lacquered
- honey-coloured lacquered
- aged, dark matt lacquered
Flush-mounted installation
When flush-mounted, it is important to note that the switches and sockets cannot be placed on standard flush-mounted sockets. The diameter is too small for this. With existing standard installations, however, you can combine the switches and sockets with special wooden base plates for flush-mounted installation or place them on the cover frames with mounting plate provided for this purpose.
Mounting without base plates or frames is easy to realise with a pre-wall installation. If you have not yet installed a standard box, you can work with small special flush-mounted boxes and mount the switch directly on the wall.

The interior is mounted on the base or the wooden base plate with 2 screws, wired, then the housing is slipped over it and screwed in place.We would like to point out that all installation work on electrical installations must be carried out by a specialist.
