General product information
-
In functional terms, letter flaps, also known simply as letter flaps, are simply slot covers that cover the letter slot in the door, gate or masonry.
Of course, letter flaps were also a design element in the past: their shape and material were more or less ornamentally adapted to the style of the house or door.

Surface variants
Depending on the model, we offer the letter flaps in various surface finishes. All our letter flaps in the brass design are not painted - they will darken over time and develop their own patina. If you wish, you can polish them from time to time. We recommend the NEVR-DULL polishing pad for this. This can be obtained from us or from specialist retailers.
Mounting
Depending on the model, the letter flaps are simply screwed onto the outside of the door or mounted through the door using threaded screws.Openings
Depending on the model, the letter flaps can be opened outwards or inwards. The internal and external dimensions also vary considerably depending on the model. All letterboxes have one thing in common, however: they are all DIN A4-compatible, meaning that they meet today's standard requirements.
Felt flaps as draught protection
We offer optional "felt flaps" for the inside of the door. These are made of brass or aluminium and covered with felt on the back to keep out any unwanted draughts.

Mounting instructions
The letter inserts are handmade in small batches. All dimensions are approximate and must be checked on site. We recommend that you only open your door once you have the letter flap in hand and can allow for minimal dimensional deviations accordingly. All installation work should be carried out by a specialist. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper mounting.
