General product information
-
Bevelled glass with ornaments is often used as a stylish decorative element for interior doors or for flat end doors. These glasses can also be used to decorate front doors, stairwell windows or pieces of furniture.
The motifs are a selection based on original designs from the Historicism and Art Nouveau periods. The motifs are applied using a stencil and the glass pane is frosted using a special fine blasting process.

Glass design variants
We can offer you motiv glass in the following designs:- Single-pane safety glass (ESG 4 mm) - a thermally toughened glass that is more stable and shatters into small cubes when broken, similar to a car windscreen, thus minimising the risk of injury. The glass cannot be subsequently cut or processed. Different glass thicknesses available on request.
- Laminated safety glass (VSG 6 mm) - this glass consists of 2 panes of glass that are joined together with a highly elastic, tear-resistant film. Advantages: It does not shatter when broken (required by building regulations for overhead glazing) and is burglar-resistant.
- Multi-pane insulating glass (MIG 24 mm) - this is double glazing with a gas-filled air cavity with a U-value of 1.1 W/sqmK in accordance with DIN EN 673. Glass structure: 4 mm float glass / 16 mm cavity / 4 mm float glass. Other thicknesses on request.
Design variants motif
The motifs can be applied in three different designs:- Blasted motif / clear background - This design gives the glass a filigree appearance - the glass remains translucent and opaque
- Clear motif / blasted background - This design gives the glass a more closed appearance - the glass is less translucent and opaque
- Blasted motif / satinised background - This design gives the glass a closed appearance - the glass is less translucent and not opaque
Special designs
The glasses can also be manufactured in other shapes (e.g. with segmental arches or corner cut-outs). For this, we need an exact dimensional drawing from you as well as a template of the glass pane on a scale of 1:1We can also offer to reproduce your own motifs. To do this, we need a high-resolution photo from you and - if available - a larger piece of glass.
Mounting and care

Installation
The frosted side is the more striking side of the glass. It could also be referred to as the "show side". It is usually used facing outwards. Cleaning and care
Due to the manufacturing process, the satinised side of the glass is slightly roughened. Please do not use glass cleaner for cleaning. Remove any dirt with diluted spirit and a soft microfibre cloth. Good cleaning results can also be achieved with flour or fine sawdust.
