Columns as a design element of architecture have been known to us since ancient times. Cast-iron columns, which became widespread in the mid-19th century, often utilised their ornamentation.
Nowadays, columns are still popular as a historical relic: they are used to design canopies, arcades, verandas or balconies and can also be used as a special architectural element in prestigious entrance areas, spacious lofts or ornamental conservatories.

Possible applications
Columns can still be used today in many ways as a special architectural design element in and around the house: They come into their own in the conservatory, on the patio or veranda or in free-standing pavilions. The columns are also often used to support balconies. In prestigious entrance areas or in large rooms, for example in restaurants or spacious lofts, the ornate columns have a room-defining effect and are a real eye-catcher. Material and surface
The decorative column elements are made of cast aluminium and are manufactured using the sand casting process. The seamless tubes are made of extruded aluminium. They are highly stable and comparatively lightweight, which makes them very easy to handle and install. The column elements are sanded after casting and subsequently blasted, giving the surface a slightly roughened appearance. Visually, they are almost indistinguishable from old cast iron columns.
Pipe elements
The tubes have a diameter of 80 or 100 mm. They are available in three standard lengths: 2000 mm / 2500 mm / 3000 mm. If necessary, they can be shortened to the required length on site by your locksmith. On request, the column can also be supplied in the length you require for an additional charge. The tubes are available in two designs: as a smooth pipe or as a fluted pipe with grooved ornamentation. Please note that the load capacity varies depending on the design and length.
Tubes with different diameters are available on request.
Capitals, Skirting elements and ornamental rings
The cast columns have a modular design and consist of individual components that can be freely combined with each other. This results in a wide range of possible variations.- Capitals - can be used as a capital and also as a Skirting element
- Skirting elements - with or without a cover plate (so-called plinth)
- Ornamental rings - for additional design of the pipes or also in the capital or plinth area
Colour lacquering
Painting in a colour of your choice should only be carried out on site after mounting. Small drill holes and imperfections caused by mounting can be filled and painted. Painted with micaceous iron oxide paint, the columns then look extremely authentic.
