Doorbell plate NOVARRA

As the name suggests, the NOVARRA bell plate is manufactured in Italy, where brass bell plates have a long tradition. The bell plate is simple in its design and adapts to different stylistic settings. The cambered, slightly arched speaker grill is a special design element for this straightforward model.

Available finishes

The bell plate is available with 5 different finishes:

• Polished brass, non lacquered - standard design – going to become tarnished and going to get darker
• Patinized brass, dark bronze-coloured - matte, slightly irregularly coloured surface
• Graphitized brass - painted in anthracite, shimmery matte black, iron-like
• Brass, chrome-plated - high-gloss silver-coloured
• Brass with a PVD coating - high-gloss gold-coloured, impact-resistant and scratch-proof, no changes of colour.

Unless stated otherwise, we deliver the bell plates in our standard design, polished and non lacquered. The prices of the other designs are listed under each version.

Bell contacts

The bell contacts are 12V screwed contacts and are wired with the connection cables. If you wish to use one of the bell pushes as light switch, your electrician can insert a relay.

Brass name plates

The name plates (54x20mm) is made of brass and is engravable. It is fastened with little round head screws and nuts from the back. The standard bell plate is delivered with brass name plates. If your tenants change often you might want to add additional spare name plates to your order.

Acrylic glass name plates

If the entrance area is poorly illuminated, the bell plate can be backlit. For that reason we offer name plates made of acrylic glass (54x20mm) instead of the engravable brass name plates on request. Please note down the request on your order! To illuminate the bell plate your electrician needs to instal illuminating diodes on the backside (not contained in the scope of delivery).

Engravings

We like to ask you to get the engravings done at a local engraver. There you can choose the lettering, spacing etc. individually.

Electronic parts are not contained in the scope of delivery. These parts must be supplied by your electrician if not already present in the existing installation. The bell plates can usually be combined with standard built-in speakers (e.g. SIEDLE TLE-061-0 or products with identical in construction). Standard bell plates (polished brass) come with a protective paste you can wipe of by gently polishing the plate with a coft cloth (no microfibre cloth!).

Mounting instructions

The flush-mounted housing must be set into the masonry and the built in speaker must be placed correctly inside the housing (on the backside of the grill is a bracket, that might not fit all speakers. Your electrician will find the proper fastening method for your speaker). Before you fit the bell plate you have to screw on the engraved name plates and fastened them with the nuts on the backside. Wire the connection cables with the bell pushes, then fasten the bell plate to the housing using the special screws. Please make sure the bell plate is rigidly supported by the housing and no water can come in. Mounting must only be carried out by a qualified specialist. We cannot accept any liability for damages due to incorrect mounting.

Care instructions

Brass lives! Our standard design of the Italian bell plate is polished brass, non lacquered. The surface is going to get darker, become more irregular and the colouration is going to become livelier. The bell plate will develop its own patina and converge to the look and feel of original historic fittings. If desired you may refurbish the plate from time to time. We recommend the polishing wool “Nevr Dull”®. Nickel-plated surfaces are sensitive to acid. They (as well as lacquered or patinized surfaces) should be cleaned only with mild detergents and a soft cloth.
