Brass surface or nickel-plating?

Most our entrance door fittings crafted out of brass can be bought with a untreated and lightly patinated surface or with a satin or shiny nickel-plated surface. The charge for the nickel-plating per door fittings is priced at:

  • shiny nickel-plating: EUR 23.-
  • satin nickel-plating: EUR 27.-

Exception 1: For the handle pairs for box locks (article-no. 212.0250 to 0254) apply differing extra charges. Details are shown on the article page.

Exeption 2: The door fittings with handles crafted out of porcelain (article-no. 212.0060 to 212.0065) are only available in the specified and pictured options.

Exeption 3: The door fittings made of zinc dye casting (article-no. 212.0080 to 212.0084) are only available satin nickel plated or, coming with an additionally charge, nickel plated with mirror finish. Details are listed on the article page.

Exeption 4: For the levers, plates and roses that are combinable among each other apply differing additional charges (article-no. 212.0100 to 212.0199). Details are listed on the article page.

Surfaces and maintenance

Brass

Brass lives! We deliver door fittings untreated. Every door fittings develop their own patina over time. If you want to polish the fittings every once in a while, we suggest the polishing wadding Nevr Dull®.

Iron

For the maintenance of door fittings which are not zinc-plated and crafted out of cast iron or forged iron we recommend to treat the surface with a weapon oil, for example Balistol®.
